It has been a week since the family dinner from hell. Jayson and I have been keeping an eye out for Taelin, but with every little luck. I have seen her around the campus, but I cannot get to her fast enough to talk with her before she disappears. Jayson has been having the same problem. I should have known it would not be easy to find her so the two of us could speak with her. Taelin has always been able to go unseen. I am not sure where she learned that, but she is damn good at it. The weather has been on her side as well. It has cooled down significantly. This means she is wearing beanies so her hair is covered and hoodies which can help conceal her from everyone as well. I was hoping that we would have found her by now and cleared everything up, but that is not the case. I look around once again before someone punches me in the arm. I shoot a glare at the perpetrator.

“Come on we have to get to practice.” Nick says.

“I know, but this is driving me crazy.”  I admit.

“I know, but we will find her. She cannot hide forever. I think we should get Etta and Marnie involved. I know they will not bring her to you and Jayson, but it is possible that they could convince her to talk with the two of you.” Colton points out.

“True, I will ask them if they would help. I have a feeling that it will not be that easy. We spoke with Dad last night and she is still refusing to discuss what happened between us.”  I told them.

Jayson and I are out of ideas. We understand that what we said was shitty and it could have been said better, but damn at least let us explain. We had planned on telling her how we both felt about her when she came to live with us, but so far nothing we had planned has gone right. We also apologized to Zoe for dragging her into our fucking family drama. She told us not to worry about it. I take one last look around before following the others to practice.

Later that night after we had gotten back from practice Jayson called Etta and Marnie asking if they could come over.  Of course they said yes and I knew that Rich and Nick would be with them.  Etta and Marnie had been best friends since we were in diapers.  We knew they were both in to polyamory.  We didn’t care since Jayson and I had decided to share Taelin once she turned 18.  Last year they had met Nick and Rich who were, to our surprise, into the same thing.  The four of them worked well together. I was surprised to find out that they added a fifth person, Evan, to there little group. They all ended up moving into a house near ours and so far everything has gone well. I hope once we talk everything out with Taelin that things go well between the three of us. With the way shit is going I am not sure that is ever going to happen.

“Okay we are here. What do you want?”  Marnie asked.

“We need yours and Etta’s help.”  I whined.

“You want us to talk with Taelin and see if we can get her to talk the two of you.”  Etta exclaimed.

“Yes, please will you help us.  We have tried all week, but she is way to good at avoiding and all we get a quick glimpse of her but she disappears before we can get to her.”  Jayson states.

“Fine, we will help or at least try.  They two of you have to understand that even though she denies it what you said really hurt her. We understand why you said it and we agree that all those other stuck up bitches would have started shit, but you should have taken her aside at home when you first noticed her distancing herself from the two of you and all of this could have been avoided.”  Marnie points out.

“Yeah, we know, but we can’t change what happened, but we are trying to fix it now.”  I comment.

I watch as Jayson grabs his coat and walks towards the door. Lucas tags along with him. This is what we have been doing for the last week. Tomorrow night I will do the same thing. So far we haven’t had any luck. Honestly we are hoping to stumble across her while we are out walking around. We have asked around but no one has seen her or no one is admitting to seeing her.

“Where are Jayson and Lucas going?” Martie asked.

“We have been taking turns going out after practice and looking for Taelin. It sounds stupid but we are hoping to run across her.” I admit.

Yeah I hate that look. Martie and Etta are giving me that look. I turn away taking a drink of my water. Someone sat down beside me making me glance over my shoulder to see Etta sitting there. I turn my attention to the tv.

“Hey I wasn’t trying to be condescending and I sure as hell wasn’t trying to pity you. Martie and I know how much you and Jayson want her we just didn’t realize that the two of you had it this bad.” Etta told me.

I know, these last two years have been hard. We have tried calling and texting her, but she never responds. Janelle told us that she changed her number because she was receiving numerous spam calls, but Jayson and I know it was so we couldn’t contact her. We tried to find her on social media but either she doesn't have any social media accounts (which I doubt) or they are under a pseudonym.  Daymon puts on a movie to distract us. It won't but I thank him for trying.

“I take it you weren’t successful in your search.” I state.

“No, but we did find someone that saw her a couple of blocks over. The guy says that he sees her everyday, but he never sees her coming from or going into any of the houses. I don’t think she lives there but she must walk that way to get to her classes.” Jayson told me.

Well fuck, finally a break. At least now we know what area to stake out. Jayson tells us where she has been seen and damn she was close by, well she at least walked close by to get to class. Sleep doesn’t come easy that night. I have way to much running through my mind. Something about this whole situation isn’t sitting well with me. I know Dad told her where our house was, but she had never come to visit when they did so she has never been here. This is why she hasn’t been seen walking past our place. If I was right then she has been taking an alternative route because the main route to the campus was our street. I climbed put of bed and climbed the stairs to the roof top deck. We had that added on last minute during the renovation. I wasn’t surprised to see Jayson sitting in one of the chairs. I dropped down into the other chair. We didn’t need to say anything. We knew why each other was here. I turned my gaze towards all the other residences around us. Somewhere out there my kitten is laying in a bed alone. I have no idea how long the two of us sat there, but finally we both climbed back down the stairs and went to our room.
