A Bittersweet Escape

Linda’s POV

Leaving China felt like a bittersweet escape.

On one hand, I longed for the familiarity of home, the comforting embrace of friends and family who would support me through this ordeal. On the other hand, I dreaded leaving, because it’d feel like I was leaving my life behind; all those memories, both good and bad.

As the miles passed by, I found myself clutching onto the sweater on my lap, it was a gift from Chris a few days after our wedding. It brought some warm and ugly feelings but I was not willing to trash it.

Did I miss my husband? Yes. Did I want him back? Yes. Did I miss his smile, his cologne, his silliness? Yes, yes, and yes! But I just could not explain it, my heart was not ready.

I had taken the time in the hospital to also watch the full Talk Show about the scandal. I had also watched almost all the YouTube videos out there that had mentioned Chris Kingston and Meghan.
