(Sammy's POV)I thought my brother cared about me or even loved me, but that was a lie, it was clear he wanted to humiliate me. I arrived at the damned building, which was obviously glorious, and they kept me waiting. As much as I felt ashamed stepping on its grounds as soon as I got out of the shabby almost broken taxi I booked, I was stunned to find the interior was spectacular with standard. Nothing less expensive. She was now guessing why her brother was so classy and well off. He was successful and had a satisfying life with everything he needed. In the past, I never bothered to actually look into Williams corporation, which was a well-known company. Most of my friends I graduated with dreamed of being accepted at such a successful company. Unfortunately, I didn't even bother. My only concern was finishing my studies and getting free from all the noisy lecturers and their nagging, but now my eyes were seeing heaven. The atmosphere was pleasant such that I was feeling dizzy, s
I scanned the furniture arranged to the left side of the room which was black couches with a coffee table in the middle and a vase of artificial flowers which got my attention then shifted my eyes to the glass table with a leather chair which, I assumed, was the boss's chair“Please have a seat… Ms Morgan”the man said as he guided me towards the desk and pulled out a chair and I gracefully sat down and set my purse on the table as I adjusted my white jacket I decided to wear over the tuck in white shirt together with black trousers with black heels. I would rather not look unprofessional; hence I did my best and my best screamed beautiful.“So welcome… I'm sure you were told that this interview won't take long, but I'll only ask you a few questions”the man spoke as he rummaged through a few files on the table and took out a blue file which he shoved on the desk near me. I nodded and fixed my eyes on the file and the man nodded as well “good… I'm Chase Miller…the company's lawyer as
(David's POV)I paced around my so-called office like a wounded animal. My mind was a mess as I thought about the possibility of the court giving my brother's hard-earned wealth to strangers just because I was found not eligible to take care of two boys who were only four years old. I mean, the twins in question were my nephews who I loved, and they loved me a lot. I didn't see why I had to have a permanent woman living in my house all for having a stable home and a good environment for two kids who still needed the love of parents“Calm down already… I told you… I have this under control”I heard Charlie say with a chuckle and I stopped packing and turned to look at him, and he was busy scrolling on his phone. It was easy for him to say that everything was okay, but I was the one suffering, I was the one feeling the pain of having the weight of the world on my head, and now I was waiting for Chase to come back with the results I needed to get out of the situation even if I had to sa
(Sammy's POV)My world came crumbling down when the so-called man who was interviewing me returned with a large box, which, I thought, was a gift box. I was happy and sipping the champagne when I was told the shocking news of a lifetime and choked on the liquid as I coughed violently trying to grasp for some air. Even when the man rushed to my side to help me calm down, I pushed him away as I lifted my head and fixed my cold sharp eyes at him that he slowly backed away from my evil eye with a piercing gaze which would drill through a soul if it could. I thought I was dreaming hearing what the man had to say and like a fool he repeated the words as if the news were something good.“The contract you just signed is you approving to be Mr. William's part-time wife…your weekly payment has been sent already…kindly wear this wedding dress and wedding ring so that we can take pictures”he said seriously as if my anger were nothing, he shoved the box to me and my anger flared up. I couldn't br
(Sammy's POV)I thought my night would be in my favor or better yet at last get some shut eyes; however, that wasn't the case when I kept on waking up in the middle of the night due to a horrible nightmare. I was dreaming of my new life as a wife, and I was in the kitchen cooking with white flour all over me, including my face. I was dressed like an old lady from the 60s with a head wrap. Kids were crying like bees swarming around me, yelling mommy we want food. Mommy, I want this and that. I couldn't handle the pressure looking at all the little kids who were obviously my children and the sight of it scared me as I began feeling dizzy. My head was spinning and the bowl of something I had in my hands started slipping away as the yelling and screaming and crying repeated in my head. I was unable to take it anymore and felt as if I would explode any time soon and that.“Ahh!”a loud scream escaped my mouth as I woke up panting and catching my breath. I was disturbed as I scanned my surro
In the past, I always had this crazy fantasy of living in a ginormous castle, full of servants at my beck and call and well that was never the caseMy family was just an average family. We weren't rich or famous or owned luxurious cars like the different expensive cars I saw parked outside, but we were a decent family who were comfortable with what we had.Everything around the mansion was top-notch, I elegantly walked away from the gate heading further inside and my eyes couldn't help but admire my surroundings. The magnificent landscaped gardens, looking back, I noticed the main entrance was through a curved entrance with a black wrought iron electric gate. A sweeping gravel driveway with apple lighting was borderline on both sides by rolling lawns with beech highland and extensive herbaceous planting. A double detached garage was positioned to the left side of the mansion, there was parking to the front and side of the mansion for several cars, which were all expensive in my eyes.
(David POV)“So…the judge approved this…” It was hard to believe the kind of situation I was left in by my older brother. It seemed they did things deliberately just to annoy me or anything. My brother's whole life was dedicated to working without crashing. He never took any rest, even when he fell ill. I blamed it on the woman he loved, the mother of the twins she gave birth to and walked out of my brother's life. He loved her a lot and gave her whatever she wanted, but she broke his heart and chose another man without thinking twice. I didn't want to go through what my brother went through. His depression led him to an early grave, and I cursed the woman who was responsible for that.“The court firmly told me they'll keep an eye on you for about six months or a year just to see if the twins are okay with your…wife”it was impossible to think or even put my head on the pillow to get some shut eyes without waking up middle of the night hoping to find everything back to normal with my b
(Sammy POV)“So…what do you think?” he finished his sentence with a click of his index finger on the desk and leaned back in his chair and kept his gaze on me. I stood there pondering over his words. He made a good offer, something which I didn't expect from someone whom I disrespected the other night. The man was willing to put all grudges aside because he needed my help. His idea was a ridiculous one, something I was supposed to say no to and walk out, however I was standing before him fighting with my inner self on what to do.After a bad first encounter. I cooled down thanks to Charlie, who explained to me the situation. Apparently, the man I nearly fought with was the billionaire who wanted me as a wife. According to our encounter at the bar, his personality wasn't so pleasing. He looked like an arrogant man, a spoiled rich bachelor who thought marriage was just a game. Although I didn't intend to get married and settle down myself, I respected the bond of marriage a husband and
