Chapter 14: Regrets

Annette let out a sleepy yawn as she awoke, the warm sunlight streaming onto her face. As she attempted to sit up in bed, a sharp pain shot through her, prompting a loud groan. Memories of the previous night flooded back, and a smile graced her lips. He had been so gentle and caring, a stark contrast to the man he was when they had initially entered into this arrangement.

"Maybe he does have a good side." Annette pondered as she managed to free herself from the covers. However, to her disappointment, Hudson was nowhere to be seen; it was as if he had never been there.
