CHAPTER TWELVE

We were seated opposite each other as we had just finished ordering, I settled for water.

“So you just want water?” He asked as the waitress went away.

“Yes, start talking.” I was abit hush.

“Well,” he cleared his throat as he ran his hand through his hair.

“I don’t have much time, talk Jade.” I was already feeling guilty talking to him when Loren asked me to do the opposite.

“Is he the one texting?” He asked as I glanced at my phone, it was actually Loren asking me to do what she said.

“Yes,” I lied.

He cleared his throat before he started talking, “Well you know how things turned out between us, I honestly didn’t expect them to go this way.”

“Yea, but at least we both found our true love, right?”

“No,” I eyed him with a clueless face.

“I told you my relationship with Lucy is a contract, only fulfilling her wish before she dies.”

“I know but the way you accused me of seducing you and your behavior with her.”
