She walked inside and found that it was empty.

After going to a stall, she closed the door, flicked the lock into place, and then turned toward the toilet. Once she’d put the lid down, she stood on it and then sat her ass on the back of the toilet seat, keeping her feet on the lid.

Resting her elbows on her knees, she collapsed into her hands and groaned. Arguing with her father always made her feel queasy. It wasn’t a good feeling.

She wanted to cry. If she did, that would smudge her makeup, and she had worked hard to make it look just right. She blew out a breath and tried to calm her nerves, to focus on what was important.

Billy had warned her when it came to those kids, her father and she would never see eye to eye.

She tensed up when she heard the door open and close.

“I don’t know about you ladies, but Saya is looking so good tonight. I didn’t even care that Johannes was there.” Laura frowned.

“Oh, please, Charlotte, you were trying to get Johannes’s attention just as we were.”
