CHAPTER 8

I will need to get some supplies before I start on my next project.  Professor Evans thought to himself as he drove to work.  I will need tape, rope, super glue…  he never had to worry about forgetting what he needs because of years of mental challenges.  He knew that he couldn’t’ afford to keep notes or any records of his acts, he always had to stay on guard.  The only thing that has kept him from getting caught was his rule; leave no evidence behind.  So far, it’s worked for him.

He pulled off the main road and onto a dirt road he continued down the road for about a mile then passed through one of two gates that lead to Knightly Tanner College.  The school was actually an old castle style stone building that used to house the insane.  Some fifty years ago it was converted into a college, he found it somewhat soothing.  The Dean of the school wanted to remodel the school, but the locals banded together in a strike to keep the historical value of this building.  It was agreed upon that the outside of the building would remain unaltered, but the inside would be made safe for the students.

At first glance the school was intimidating but once you could see it up close, it was absolutely awe inspiring.  The windows were made with stained glass depicting Kings and Queens of old.  The outside of the school was lined with rose bushes.  The building had a magical kind of feel to it.  He felt at home here, it helped him think.  To enter through the second gate, one had to get buzzed in by the Security Guard on duty.  “Good morning, Professor Evans.”  Chuck Larson, the campus security guard always greeted him the same way every day.

“Good morning, Chuck.”  He tried not to sound so emotionless as he patiently waited in his luxury, limited edition Mercedes LXT, while Chuck verified has badge.  “How are you this morning?”

“Well, the day is still early but so far so good.”  Chuck said as he gave him his badge back.  “Have a good day Professor.”

“I will definitely try Chuck.”  What a schmuck!  He was smiling smugly to himself as he made his way past students to a narrow path that led to his classroom, at the back of the school.  He parks his vehicle in a very secluded parking spot, where there were no security cameras.  He made his way up the steps to the back entrance of his classroom and set up for the day.  It has only been a day since he killed his last victim, yet he felt the uncontrollable itch, again.  He was waiting for a specific person to be his next project.  He slowly realized that if he didn’t feed his appetite, soon, he would lose complete control and make mistakes.

He was setting down his briefcase when he heard a soft knock on his door, accompanied by an even softer voice.  “Morning Professor Evans.”

When he turned toward the door, he noticed that it one of his students.  She looked at his seductively and he had to try really hard to contain his disgust.  “Morning Kamey?”  As he looked her up and down, he realized that she would be the perfect distraction for him.

Little did Kamey know that she would be a rather reluctant participant but again, how could she know about the monster that lay within!  He thought to himself as he wickedly smiled at her.
