Whispers Of A Change

“I need to see my best friend today.”

He sat up on the bed, a hand on his face.

“What did you say?” He asked. “Good morning, Emily.”

“Good morning, Mr. Stone,” Emily greeted back, opening the curtains and picking up one of her stuff that dropped to the floor a few hours ago. “I will stop by my apartment today when I am done with you this morning. I need to see my best friend.”

Oh, he gave a nod. He thought he heard something else and had to ask again, just to be certain of what she said.

“Did she ask you to come over?”

“No,” Emily shook her head. “She picked the un-shattered tray from the footing where it lay and shook her head again. “It is me that needs to communicate with her. We haven't seen each other in a long while since I moved into the mansion.”

She was right. Who is he to prevent her from seeing her best friend? He wondered and nodded his head. “You should see her, then,” he agreed. “Doesn't she have a job? Forgive me for levering.”
