CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT

The sky was void of stars, and the encroachment of thick heavy clouds signified that there would be a downpour tonight. Yet, despite those odds, I raced to my car, and with an anxious mind turned on the ignition. I couldn't sleep, not with the thoughts of harm coming to her while she was out there. The streets were dangerous these days, and I wouldn't stop blaming myself if any harm came to her.

Perhaps I had gone too far by keeping that information away from her, she deserved to know.

"Don't think! Just find her!" I screamed at myself before zooming onto the streets. This was no time for regrets, the deed had been done and all I could do at this point was find her before it was too late.

With a hand on the steering wheel, I pulled my phone from the depths of my pocket and tried giving Chloe a call for the hundredth time now. But like the last hundred times, it rang without an answer.
