CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

Sitting down there, I sighed as soon as she had gone out of the office. I sighed, realizing the gravity of my actions. What had I done? Rejecting her had likely shattered an opportunity, and now, I braced myself for the inevitable repercussions she would undoubtedly unleash upon me.

Grandfather would undoubtedly be disappointed. This deal held immense potential gains for him, and it was regrettable that I became the chosen suitor. My brother would have been a more fitting match for her, yet there must be a valid reason for his exclusion.

Similar to me, Grandfather had used my brother as leverage to secure wealth and alliances, and he was set to wed one of his friend's daughters. Strangely, my brother didn't seem opposed to the idea. In fact, he appeared to genuinely like the chosen girl, who, truth be told, was a striking beauty.

"Oh well, might as well hand over the company myself," I muttered, leaning back in the chair, the untouched cup of coffee sitting on the table.
