#Chapter6

"Who is this calling from a blocked number?" I questioned my buzzing phone.

"Hello."

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" A female's voice screamed from the other end of the phone.

"Jess?"

"One and only. What are you doing? You can't call nobody?" She questioned.

"I'm sorry, I've been too busy adjusting here."

"I understand. So, what are you doing?"

"Well, I'm watching a little television until later."

"Uh, what's later?" She questioned.

"Well I'm going to a party tonight with a friend, nothing major."

"Out there trying to shake your ass, huh?" She joked. "I cannot wait to come visit you."

"I know, I miss you too. When are you coming?"

"I'm free in a few more weeks. By then, I'll have the money to catch a plane there."

"Great. So, we can catch up on everything."

"Yess. Well, I am going let you get ready. Have fun and be safe. Love ya."

"Ok, love ya. Bye."

Shit, Shit, Shit

It was already a quarter pass ten and Keira stated that she would be here to pick me up by ten. I grabbed my towel and my new body wash I had purchased from Bath and Body Works, and flew into the bathroom.

Finishing my shower, I was left with twenty minutes to dress to perfection.

DAMMIT!

Using my time, I ran into my bedroom and started drying off. I put on my lotion, my deodorant, and my underwear. I grabbed my mini makeup bag and my hair curlers and plopped done in front of the mirror. I put on my eye liner, mascara, and added some red MAC lipstick.

Once finished with my hair and makeup, I slipped on my dress I had purchased from the mall earlier today. Following up, I put on my black high heels and grabbed my black purse. I tossed a few needed items into my mini purse and walked out of my room.

As soon as I reached the bottom stairs, I heard Keira beep her horn to get my attention.

"Okay, mom I'm leaving." I informed my mom.

"Okay Niyah, have fun. Be safe." She called out from the kitchen.

I ran out the front door, got in Keira car, and she sped off.

Enjoying the short drive, I listened to my music I had plugged into Keira's AUX cord. Ending of a song, we pulled up in front of a sizeable building that looked almost abandoned. The paint on the building was chipping away and they covered most of the walls in graffiti. It looked like it haven’t been touched in years.

"Okay, we are here." She pulled into an open parking spot and cut the car off.

"Um, what’s here?"

"The club." She confirmed.

"Wow this looks fun." I said sarcastically. "I always enjoyed partying in infected, creepy, abandon buildings."

"Have your mother ever tell you to never judge a book by its cover? Now come on." She said, hopping out the car.

We walked up to an old red door and she knocked. Within seconds the peep hole opened and a boy, who I assumed was the bouncer, stared at us.

He nodded his head then closed the peep hole. Since he gave us the nod of acceptance, I expected the door to open the door, however it didn't.

Instead, the wall to our left opened.

"Wow!"

"Yeah." she laughed. "Nice huh?"

"Cool!"

We stepped inside and walked down a narrow, dark hallway. Once we reached the end of the hallway, it surprised me to see the inside.

It's like we stepped out of an abandon building and in to a five-star rated New York nightclub.

The club was huge. The walls were all white. There were tall, slim tables in various spots for people to place their drinks. There was a clear bar in the middle of the floor with a blue light radiating from it, which allowed us to see everything happening behind the scene. There was a balcony with couches and chairs overlooking the floor.

There were people everywhere.

"Let's go to the bar." She based over the music. "We need to get a little liquor in our system."

"You're not 21."

"I know the bartender; she's an excellent friend of mine."

As we approached the bar, she ordered four shots. I drunk two shots and she took two shots.

"Keep them coming." Keira yelled to the bartender then looked at me with a smile on her face. "Let's see how well you can hold your liquor city girl."

********

One hour, four shots, and four sweet mixed drinks later, I was feeling good. I felt everything from the liquor in my system, to the music drumming in my ears. Keira had disappeared, I'm guessing to her boyfriend who had came in a little while ago. I did not mind at all really. The music was keeping me company.

The one thing I was enjoying was the different genre of music being played. The DJ switched from Pop, to Reggae, to Hip-hop.

Right now the DJ was playing some of my favorite songs, which I could not seem to stop dancing to.

While I was dancing, I noticed the fresh eyes on me but for the first time, I didn't care.

I looked around a little, hoping to see Keisha, who had promised me she would be here. Sadly, I did not see her. However, someone else caught my eyes.

Oh!

He was just standing there, staring at me. I did not mind though, he was cute.

He was tall, 6’4” I assumed. His skin looked tanned and almost flawless. He wore a fitted black V-neck T-shirt and dark jeans, which did absolute wonders for his muscular physique. His eyes.... Well his eyes looked dark but I am guessing the lighting did not do him justice there. It looked like he was built to perfection. His skin, his body, and hopefully his-

Damn this liquor.

It felt awkward staring at him like this, but I just could not tare my eyes away from him. No matter how hard I tried.

"Hi." Being pulled away from the awkward stare down, I turned around to face someone.

"Oh, hi." I returned the greeting.

He was extremely cute as well.

"I'm Brent." Leaning forward, his lips only inches from my ear, he gave me his name.

"Hi, I'm Aniyah." I chuckled. The liquor in my system had me feeling outstanding.

"Can I buy you a drink?" He asked. His hands on my waist, he tugged me a little closer to him.

"Uh sure."

"You are very beautiful might I add." He tried to give me a charming smile.

"Thank y-"

Before I could respond, before I could get the last word to leave my lips, I hit the ground.

What the hell?

How in the hell? Rubbing my now throbbing knee and elbow, I looked over to see the guy, who I had a pleasure of having a stare down with only moments ago from across the bar, forcing Brent against the wall.

"No. What are you-" I tried to intervene before someone pulled me up off the floor by my arm.

"Keira."

"Yeah let’s go, time to go home." She snapped, pulling me out the club's back door.

"For-for a skinny girl, you sure have a mean death grip. You mind loosen it?" I muttered out. It felt like I was being dragged.

DAMN THIS GIRL IS STRONG.

"We are leaving!" She opened the car door and shoved me in to the passenger side. She slipped in to the driver's side, started the ignition, and peeled off.

"Is he fucking serious? He could have -" she was mumbling some words before she turned to look at me. Soon, things got quiet, which was soothing for me. Within moments, I was fast asleep.
