Chapter 4

Arthur’s POV

Dinner goes very awkward and uncomfortable for Alicia because she can’t understand what’s going on. It’s just something she can’t believe. There’s no way the one guy that gets her excited over a few nasty texts could be her cousin. It just sounds stupid to her and she doesn’t want to believe it.

Her mother is saying something about her co-worker at the hospital but Alicia isn’t paying attention because she’s sitting opposite Jason and he’s constantly stealing glances at her. One she’s returning with a few of her shy ones because she can’t even find it in her to be disgusted at the revelation. The guy is her cousin but that’s the least of her worries when all she can think about is the veins surrounding his pretty long fingers and the rings adorning them. Those damn hands that got her to text him in the first place.

“Then she tried to care for a patient I was assigned to and it just annoyed me..”

Alicia blanked out from whatever her mum was saying when she felt the tip of Jason’s shoes lightly press against hers as well and she looked up at him and he’s looking back at her before turning to Alicia’s mom like he didn’t almost initiate a footsie under the table.

Alicia let herself stare, she just couldn’t hold back when the finest guy she’s ever set eyes on is sitting across from her, smiling at her mother as she tells him more stories about her co-worker. His gorgeous green eyes scanned his empty plate before pushing it to the side. Alicia swallowed, picking at her food but all she could think of was the texts they shared, did they mean nothing? Were they just having fun because they were strangers? Did he know they were cousins? There’s no way right? But he said he missed her so much that he had to come over to see her.

To be honest, Alicia is confused because she just doesn’t understand what the actual hell is going on. There’s just no reasonable explanation for the situation she’s in. How does someone, a complete stranger she’s been sexting all summer show up at her house and claim they’re cousins. It just sounds stupid but her mother did say he was from her father’s side so there’s an actual possibility that it’s true since she never really knew much about her relatives from her father’s side.

She pushed a pickle into her mouth, her eyes still stuck on Jason’s jaw, the one so sharp and could probably cut her finger and it’s even better because he’s facing her mother so his side profile is practically making her want to purr if she could. She exhales, jamming her legs together for no reason whatsoever but she feels hot. She’s embarrassed too because what’s she supposed to do now that the guy she’s been telling a lot of sexual things is in front of her, laughing at her mother’s jokes?

Alicia feels lightheaded, she feels this kind of ache in her chest and in the middle of her legs and it makes her shut her legs tighter, and she’s eyeing Jason’s body and how his shirt is hugging every inch of his upper body and that sweatpants really doesn’t hide a little of his dick print. She wants to feel disgust for being this way, for acting so stupidly horny for someone she’s related to but it doesn’t come, it’s just not coming and she just— God, she feels like she’s burning up when he turns around to start gathering the empty plates around the dining table, he doesn’t even hide the way he stares her down in her black shorts and pink camisole.

“I’m exhausted. Alicia, please help Jason clean up and catch up. I have a 12am shift so I can barely get three hours of sleep. Goodnight you two.” The woman says and walks up the stairs to her room. Once her door shuts, there’s a heavy silence surrounding the two adults in the room. It’s obviously an awkward silence, an uncomfortable one that has Alicia shifting her weight from one leg to another, calmly approaching Jason to help clear the table as well.

They don’t say anything to each other for a while until they’re both standing beside each other, their backs leaning on the kitchen counter. Alicia tries to busy herself by gawking at the cupboards but she can’t help but turn her head towards Jason to glance at him and he’s already looking back at her. She can just feel the heat from his body. The way their surroundings is so quiet and it’s just the low sound of their breathing in the room. Alicia wants to say something, she wants more explanation. She wants to understand what exactly is going on because nothing makes sense to her but at the same time, she wants him to press her hard into the kitchen counter and say those things he’s been saying to her through texts, he wants to hear them from his mouth.

“Jaso-” She doesn’t get to finish calling out his name before he’s standing in front of her, both of his hands resting at the side of the counter and he’s so much taller than her but he bends a little so they’re eye level.

“What? What did you wanna say?”

Alicia takes a deep breath, relishing the tone of his voice over the phone. His deep airy voice suddenly sounds deeper and rougher and it makes her want to push herself closer to his body in hopes of feeling that voice prick at something inside her, the sheer urge to feel her body buzz with desire when he speaks more to her. She meets his eyes briefly and turns to stare at the space between their bodies, she doesn’t like the space there and she wants to move closer to completely make that space vanish but she’s never been a bold person in reality. She was a bad girl, a freaky 19 year old virgin over texts but the shyest person in reality.

“Alicia…”

She looks up at him, her eyes dragging impossibly slow on his lip and back to his nose ring. It suits him, he looks really good with it. He’s so attractive and it’s impossible for her legs not to feel like jelly when instead of him towering over her, he’s bent down on eye level with her and it feels even more intimate like this.

Her head is messy.

“Are you really him? The one—summer.” She doesn’t know what she’s saying, she’s nervous because she just wishes he’s not the one. She doesn’t want the one person she’s had the dirtiest fantasies and dreams about to be her cousin.

“Yes. It’s really me, I’m not lying.”

Alicia blinked, turning to the side, her eyes momentarily looking up the stairs to make sure her mum isn’t magically there, staring at her and her supposed cousin so close to each other’s face.

“I don’t believe you.”

Jason chuckled and Alicia should be offended because it sounds like he’s mocking her but she just finds his laugh attractive and the fact that she could feel his fresh minty breath all over her face is making her feel different unexplainable things at once. She doesn’t like that her hands are glued to her sides when she just wants to reach out and grab him and confirm if it’s really true. If what he said over the phone one time it’s true, that he has a nice thick, long cock. She wants to confirm that and she’s almost reaching towards the waistband of his sweatpants to confirm that but he’s snapping her back to reality with a small laugh.

“How do I prove that it’s me? Tell me and I’ll do it.”

Alicia thinks about it and an idea comes to her mind. “The night you—Ughmm..'' She's shy. She thought she could say it the way she always said through their numerous texts and calls but she feels tongue-tied.

She stares at one of Jason’s hands that’s reaching out to circle around the side of her throat and she gasps lightly when she feels him apply a little pressure on her neck. “See, one thing I don’t want is you not being able to say what you want. I want the Alicia over the texts we shared, the Alicia I got during the summer. How do you want me to prove I’ve been the one you’ve been texting about how you want me to bend you over my car trunk while you’re grabbing something from my car? The various ways you want me to feed you my cock, huh?”

Jesus, he’s the one. Oh, he’s definitely the one. Alicia thinks and her cheeks are practically in flames and she doesn’t know when she’s tugging at the end of his shirt, pulling him close until their chests are touching and she sucks her bottom lip into her mouth, her eyes morphed into something else that’s sexier and not the innocent look she had on earlier.

“Why did you ignore me all week?”

Don’t let the twist be that one of them is adopted, but the story is fire.
