The good news about the headmaster’s arrival was the fact that the treatment of the patients became swift and efficient. He lends some of his energy to Granny. He also released some of her tension from Dark’s terrible appearance by extracting some of her memories.
Michelle thought it wouldn’t help Granny at all, considering that he would still put it back. Well, it would make her work without thinking about anything. But it’s a temporary relief, a cruel action to take to someone who just lost his grandson for the second time.

When Berry woke up, he had to blink a lot of times to regain his vision. Though he could see a small figure standing in front of him, he couldn’t quite comprehend who she might be. As he tried to think, his head pricked a little. He immediately massaged it with his left hand. His brows furrowed. There wasn’t a sign of blood nor wound in there, yet he could feel throbbing pain as though a knife was piercing it. The almost eternal loop flashed inside his mind as he thought of possible reasons why he felt so weak. It quite explained a lot of things. The moon gleamed brightly as the tension below it became palpable. Even the wind knew something was wrong as it rarely passed through the horde of Wielders: There were ones pointing spears to the Skippers who were slumped on the ground, their hands raised, while Marjorie stood frozen in front of them. It took Berry a hundred gulp, his eyes roaming the place for some escape. But he was frozen when Marjorie started laughing, a crisped one. Everyone stared at her with furrowed brows. If Berry’s team had to have a nightmare-ish journey, the same couldn’t be said to Michelle’s. In fact, their expedition was so smooth they started doubting whether they’re really on a suicidal mission or what. But they compensate with that thought by arguing that it’s probably Michelle’s ability to wield darkness that aided them. It amazed Cherry and Reigna that even the most impenetrable blackness of the tunnel paled when Michelle walked through. It’s as if the night was forced to revere her, to bow to her prowess like anyone would do once they’re made aware of her capabilities. “You’re Karina, right?” said Michelle. They were huddled on a bonfire, surrounded by the baobab trees that shadowed the moonlight, seated on a branch of a tree, together with Karina who did not say a word since they left the school. With the help of the map, which luckily didn’t smell, Michelle and her team successfully traveled North. They’ve been restless for hours and any complaints, groan, whatsoever from Reigna and Cherry were dismissed with a single glare. Karina didn’t mind, but she did feel a little uncomfortable with the way Michelle treated the two kids. She bet Michelle was yet to move on with the children’s teasing, and it’s funny for her because it was the first time she’d seen her act with less decency. Michelle had a very bad dream. She was walking in the aisle eclipsed with the blackest of shadows. Even as she tried to lift it, the heaviness that’s embedded in it was too much for her to manipulate. What’s more suspicious was the way in which her feet were glued to the ground. It’s as though it never wanted her to move forward. The only one she knew to have mastery in the art of gravity was Karina, but it’s unlikely for her to do this.
