41: Anything at all

I was running late. Today’s traffic was straight from hell. Stopping by the pastry shop to get donuts for me and my boss had seemed like a great idea until now. I pushed my hand into my bag to feel the pack. It was not as hot anymore. My fingers brushed the porcelain, and I retracted my hand. I had already sent my boss a message to inform him about the traffic, but I was still nervous.

Waylen was at the office. He asked if he could pick me up from home, but I refused. On Saturday, I saw a side of him I had never seen before. A side that made my heart race faster than it ever did. That man was something, and he was growing irresistible.

The cab slowed in front of my office complex, and I shot out of the car like someone lit a fire under my ass. I smoothed my dress in front of the elevator and tapped on my floor digit. Stepping in, I passed myself a look at the mirror walls. I didn’t have to be nervous. It was just a mug. A customized mug for a boss my sister
