"Sorry my apartment is a bit cramped and not appealing," Elena blushed with embarrassment as Gavin's tall frame walked into her home.

"No worries. My mom and I had almost the same kind when we were living together," Gavin was wearing a light blue shirt that hugged his body and exposed all his muscles and a pair of black jeans, he held a tub of coffee ice cream in one hand and an assortment of cookies and chocolates in the other. He carefully set it down on the centre table and smiled down at her.

"Before she got married to your stepdad?"

"Yeah, she was just a single mother trying to make ends meet with her seven-year-old." Gavin reminisced about the old days, eating cold leftovers in the dark while his mother cried to the electricity company. "Uh, no offense to your home, it's not like I see you as a struggling single mother, which again would be fine. I'm a feminist," once the words left his mouth, he face-palmed himself.
