Chapter 228

Samantha changed into her house slippers and wordlessly entered her room. She lay down on her bed, feeling confused and disoriented even until now.

She clearly loved Bryce but had somehow gotten intimate with Levi. It was too baffling.

Samantha lay in the dark for some time before recalling the birth control pills. She then got up from her bed and took the pills as she shuffled downstairs to get some water.

She was met with Quirina, who had just returned from her dinner party.

Quirina looked up from changing her slippers and saw Samantha looking preoccupied. She quickly asked, "What's wrong, Samantha? You looked so out of it."

Suddenly, Samantha felt aggrieved and slowly walked to Quirina. She then threw herself into Quirina's embrace and burst into tears.

Quirina anxiously patted her head and asked, "Why are you crying out of nowhere?"

Samantha replied, "I slept with Levi earlier, Mom."

Quirina was stunned. "Haven't you always liked Bryce? Why did you sleep with Levi?"
