Secrets

Sophia sat beside her window, watching Noah's car. He hadn't moved to over an hour. Noah heaved a heavy sigh.

It was a cold night. He didn't know what to say or do. Noah knew how hurt she was. Having a DNA test done was like a declaration of distrust.

He knew the children were his, but word of mouth wasn't going to prove that to a judge. All he was trying to do was secure the shares for the kids.

If he explained it to her, he not only had to tell her about the will, but also about an older brother who was supposed to be non-existent. He hadn't even summoned the courage to ask about Brad yet.

It was going to be a difficult conversation. He stepped out of the car, took a moment to compose himself before making his way to the front door.

Noah stood there for about a minute before attempting to knock. He retracted his hand.

‘The twins, Ava, they'd be asleep.’

He paced the floors for a bit, too in some air, then released it in the cold night. Sophia couldn't sleep, how could he stand
