Chapter 35: Do You Love Her?

I was awakened to a door clicking shut. When did I fall asleep? I slowly opened my eyes to find a pitch-black room. When did it get so dark? Once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I noticed Brax sitting on a couch. He had his head in his hands and I knew something was wrong. 

“Brax?” I said in a low voice. I slid out of bed and made my way into his sitting area. I turned on his fireplace to give us a little light without things becoming too bright. Brax didn’t move. There was a heavy feeling in the room, dread blanketed my body. “Brax, are you okay?” I sat down next to him and placed my hand on his shoulder.

“Willow, I have to tell you something.” He said with a sorrowful tone in his voice.
