After speaking with me that day, the cops let me leave. They didn't charge me with Kinsey's death because there wasn't enough proof. After a few days, I gave up hunting for Sierra and probably lost hope of ever finding her again. Even though I felt it was too late, I only recently understood that Kinsey was correct—I shouldn't be wasting time on someone who has been silent for a long time. September 27, 2016I'm currently having dinner with my entire family at the dining table. Bryon returned home to tell our parents that he had passed his exam, and this dinner is a sort of celebration for him as well. For the first time, dad applauded him even when he wasn't smiling, while mom was overjoyed. I congratulated him as well, but it was the first and only statement I said to him, and we didn't say anything else to each other after that. He also still didn't inform Dad about my relationship with Sierra, as if he had forgotten about it, which is pretty weird, but I'm still relieved that he didn't. He will also return to the city tomorrow morning.It's six o'clock at night, and I left Sierra's place right after class since I didn't want mom and dad to worry why I was late if I lingered too long in her place.
