"Are you not confident and don't believe we can get through this together?" was the only question I could ask her as disappointment grew inside of me.

"No, Archer, it's not like that. I'm merely thinking about actual possibilities rather than being idealistic." I didn't object when she said that. I simply nodded at her remark and gently let go of her, feeling sad and disappointed. I didn't want to force her anymore, but I also didn't want to leave her alone either, so I just stood there wondering about what to do next. I couldn't stay here either since I can't bear the thought of seeing my father again, and I'm also thinking about what Bryon said. He's partly correct; Dad could still consider stabbing me from behind, and he might believe that going for Sierra would satisfy his vengeance on me.
