We were the only ones in it and I felt suffocated; her energy was radiating off her and the silence was so deafening. The ride up was agonizingly slow, the elevator tinged, and she walked out. I pressed my thumb for a scan on the knob for access. The door unlocked and we entered.

I loosened my tie, took off my suit jacket, and threw it on the couch.

"Do you have wine?", she asked.

"I do, but that's not what you need, how did your mum end up at the dinner waitressing?" No more alcohol for her, she has had enough today, I couldn't deal with drunk Vee tonight.

"Your uncle supposedly hired her, his plan was to humiliate me and he succeeded and now I'm the worst daughter on earth", she crashed onto the sofa closing her eyes.

"I'm so sorry about that" I couldn't believe he would stoop so slow, go that far just to ruin my dinner.
