AFTER lunch, Gavin suggested watching a movie. Since he claimed to have nothing else to do that afternoon, Evadne agreed.

“Don’t you have any important work to do? It’s still a weekday for you to relax,” she teased.

“Did you forget who I am?” he replied with a smile.

Evadne smirked, “Oh right. You’re the almighty Gavin Wright.”

He opened the door on the passenger side, saying, “So, don’t think about my work when we’re together. Got it?”

“Fine,” she said before getting into the car. “Thanks,” she added as he fastened her seat belt.

During the drive, Evadne remained silent. It was the first time she was out with Gavin.

“Where are we sleeping tonight? You choose. In your apartment or my penthouse?”

Evadne turned to Gavin, puzzled. “Wh-what?”

“Did you go deaf again?” he chuckled.

“I mean, why do I have to choose where I’ll sleep tonight? I have my own house.”

“Us,” he emphasized. “So don’t think about going back to your place. Got it?”
