"I tripped," I said, not wanting to have a debate over it. I know it wasn't a good excuse because just a minute ago Willow too couldn't satisfy him with the same excuse.

"Just like Willow?" He stopped walking when he was merely inches away from me. Good! It’s good he stands at a distance from me. 

"I don't know, I tripped and that's all I know." I lied again. My heart was beating in my head, like literally, I could feel my veins popping in fear.

"Show me your ankle." He lowered his head and stepped back to have a glance at my foot.

"It's not that twisted, I mean it just hurts." I didn't look in his eyes and mumbled awkwardly. Why wasn't he investigating me so much?

I just wanted a day off, not really, but now that I've already made up an excuse, why not get a day off and rest a bit.
