Chapter 23.2

"It is not me," I simply said. I can hear the denial tone in my voice but I am hoping they won't notice it. And now I am regretting why I didn't order a drink earlier.

I can't easily shift my attention to something because I don't have anything with me except my phone that died earlier. I forgot to charge it that's why I can't use it as an alibi that I am doing something.

I just squeezed my hands under the table waiting for another attack of a question but that didn't come. I felt relieved by it.

The ladies who overheard us are now looking and admiring the boys playing while I looked at them to check if their attention was still on me.

"Surely, that wasn't you, right? You looked like someone who won't settle for less." I nodded at the guy without hesitation. He gave me a small smile before he drank all of his remaining drinks in his glass.
