I touched my chest, trying to hold back the pain of rejection.

"You are my mate doesn't mean you will be my Luna. I don't love you, and you should know that by now. You are just a slave, a worthless omega and you don't deserve to be recognized." I felt hot liquids roll down my cheeks. "You don't deserve me, you deserve a poor and wretched life."

I gulped the lump in my throat, but the tears in my eyes were evidence that his words had hit me so hard to the core. I was expecting this, I have always expected this from him. But what I didn't expect is to feel so pained by his words.
