Chapter Fifty-Six

I was already up the next morning in the field, it was our early compulsory activity. For the first time, Mrs Patricia asked me to arrange some bricks on the field according to a puzzle in front of me.

Back in school, I was so good at trivia and puzzles so I knew how to do it.

"How did you do yours?" Henry inquired as he had difficulties arranging his puzzles.

I chuckled at the way his puzzle was scattered and helped him do it the proper way. "Yeah, I've done it."

He sighed in relief and winked at me. "Thank you, you're a life saver."

The remaining slaves were too embarrassed to ask me to help them and I wasn't even ready to volunteer to help them.

Mrs Patricia came quite sooner and inspected all the puzzles. Only I and Henry got it correctly, she sent the rest on punishments and stared at me for a long time.

"Alright Hailey, it's time for your date with King Raymond and I'm here to assist you. Follow me."

I followed her back into the palace and she took me into a beautiful room.
