Chapter 171

“Ashianna, where did you go? How could you leave this pack despite how risky it is?” I heard King Edward's voice roar in the pack house. I was shocked when I saw him sitting on the couch, despite how dark it was. His eyes darted at me like he was trying to act like he was catching his wife in an affair.

I almost stepped back because I felt like he was the father who wanted to nag his child for going back late. However, I found it amusing that he waited for me and endured staying all night just to scare me.

Gunner didn't want me to leave his pack because he wanted us to talk more, but I rejected his invitation on the spot. I knew he would be more furious because I always kept rejecting him after we had almost slept with each other.

I cleared my throat as I felt how dry my throat was when I rushed inside the pack house, but King Edward stood up from his seat and stopped me. His forehead creased when he sniffed my scent. “Where did you go? I can't believe you met with Gunner!” he roared.
