Glass Walls

I leaned back in my seat, fifteen minutes later, and slumped before pulling one side of my earbuds out, glancing around the car.

Kai was engrossed in his usual eating routine, Zeek focused on driving, Leah immersed in a book, and Lilly sat beside her boyfriend, who currently had a displeased expression directed at her.

Yikes.

I quickly redirected my gaze ahead, not wanting to invite his glare towards me. I scrolled through my phone, browsing through the collection of saved images. I had developed a fondness for aesthetic photos.

It amazed me how a simple filter could make any picture captivating. Then, I stumbled upon pictures from my childhood-memories that brought a smile to my face.

One photo stood out, capturing the moment my brother planted a kiss on my cheek. We were both covered in mud, as we often ventured outside after the rain, gleefully diving into the puddles.

Our mother despised it, mainly due to the laundry aftermath. The memory brought a warm smile to my face,
