CHAPTER 44: Brantley's Return

I felt much better the next day due to a whole day of rest and Ezekiel's kind treatment towards me.

I had a different kind of energy today. Even though Ezekiel told me earlier before he left not to do anything, I was still in the mood to clean.

While I was removing dust in the living room using the noisy vacuum cleaner, I couldn't help but hum.

"Well, well! The señorita is alive again!" Davina sarcastically teased me.

As usual, Barbara was following her. They both had their own cleaning tools.

Because I was in a good mood, I didn't feel annoyed by them.

"Davina, since you're so macho, can you lift this sofa so I can vacuum the inside?"

"Hey!" Her face immediately crumpled. She instinctively held both of her arms. "You just recovered from an illness, but it seems like you want to experience it again?"

"Is there something wrong with what I said?" I laughed. "Not many women are as strong as you, so be thankful."
