CHAPTER 66: Trusted Friend

"Serena! I'm so glad you're alive and safe!" Haleanna almost cried when we saw each other for the first time after almost half a year! "Thank God you're alive!"

"No, thank you for being alive!" I hugged her tightly, tears welling up in my eyes.

I was truly scared at the thought that something bad had happened to her because of Ezekiel; the worst of all is if she gets killed. But thankfully, my husband didn't bring me down!

"How are you??" We asked each other simultaneously, like fools examining each other from head to toe.

We both breathed a sigh of relief when we saw that there were no wounds or injuries on our bodies.

Haleanna took care of Duziell during the times when Brantley and I were constantly arguing and fighting. I often hid my child with her, keeping it a secret from that man.

I am also very grateful that she was there because otherwise, Brantley would have likely taken Duziell away from me, and who knows what he would have done to my innocent child?
