Chapter Sixteen

Evie walked behind the King in the garden. She didn't know where they were headed, but he insisted she followed him.

"Milord." She called once again, and he stopped, turning around to give her a hearing ear.

"Are you sure we're headed the right way?" She questioned him, pointing at the path where he was headed. It was bushy, and behind it was a tall wall, and it sure didn't look like a Path to anywhere.

He scoffed. "Do I look that dumb to not know where I'm headed?" He asked.

"You might be thinking a lot, and after those two slaps.." She trailed off when he gave her a deep scowl.

"Sorry." She whispered.

Alpha Ronan didn't say a word. With one grab, he pulled her towards himself and jumped off the tall fence.

Evie yelled at the top of her voice, as she felt her body leaving the ground and then they went still as if they were suspended in the air.

"You can open your eyes." He said, letting her go, and she opened her eyes.
