BRIELLE’S POV

The journey seemed to last an eternity.

Brielle had already lost track of time since the Jeep started moving.

She'd dozed off halfway through the journey, the cool night breeze lulling her to sleep, and now she was wide awake, her eyes alert as she looked around the car.

Brielle noticed Madeline was wide awake, hands up her chin, and she seemed to be thinking seriously about something, thanks to her wandering eyes.

At the same time, she opened her mouth to say something to her, but her pride and ego wouldn't let her, so she quickly closed it.

She wouldn't be the one to initiate a conversation only to be ignored; she couldn't accept that.

The conversation they had before the car started was a clear indication that Madeline was channeling her inner vest towards her. Brielle should have known before this time that Madeline didn't like her and was only using her for her benefit.
