I got a mindlink that a rogue was trying to escape from the dungeon. Why would all this happen when I wanted to stay out of violence for the time being because of my mate?

"Another problem, your majesty. The rogue killed five of the guards," the person continued.

I stopped moving for a second. If there was any rogue that could kill five of my guards while escaping, it must be one of Alpha Jasper's men that I captured recently.

Alpha Jasper wasn't a rogue king but he trains rogues into deadly weapons to fight his battles. The last encounter was when more than a dozen broke into my border and killed three of my men. In anger, I had gone there and slaughtered them all except for the leader who I kept to get information.

"Get him to the silent room and make sure the instruments are ready," I instructed, clenching my jaw. I bit down my anger to its limit so as not to affect the people that are few distances away from me.
