Chapter Nineteen

His arms slipped from around my torso. He could have just been going to the toilet it would have been easier to go back to sleep then I heard him shifting around for his packs. I opened my eyes as fragments of the morning sun were seeping into my room.

“Are you leaving already?” I said, sleep thick in my voice.

I caught his smirk as he pulled his belt around his pants. “I didn’t think I would actually fall asleep.”

“Were you going to run away after I fell asleep?”

He walked to my side of the bed. He bent over and kissed my forehead.

“I thought your father wouldn’t be happy with me spending the night in his house.”

He was probably fuming about it if Nora let him know that is.

“Get some sleep. We have a busy day ahead of us.”

“What? What do you mean?”

“We have a family picnic. My house.”

I sat up. Sadie. Again?

“Please tell me your mistress—”

“I already told you I don’t have a mistress. Brea won’t be there. I spoke to Sadie.”
