Suddenly, everywhere around me was dark, as if I was transported to a void. I looked around me for the faintest indication of light, but I found none. It felt like I was standing on a smooth surface, but to be sure, I used my feet to feel the floor below me. I listened for any sound, but the air was heavy with an eerie silence. The only thing I could hear was my own breathing and pounding heart.

Did I not do it right? I asked myself as I continued to look around the nothingness. There was no way I was going to be sure, the book was definitely at Kaltain and I had no recollection of the spell. The distressing feeling of regret was unavoidable.
