Chapter 38: Adelaide.

We walk down the stairs to the large room and I try not to let the fascination in my eyes show.

It's hard to not get fascinated by something like this and my heart feels like screaming at the finery this room has been decked out in.

The man my eyes had landed on earlier is now out of my field of vision, but the rest of them are fully in it.

There's Drakon, Aviana, and Raymel, all of them people Cain had pointed out to me that day in the restaurant. I wonder if they recognize me for a while but when we are fully descended I can see that they have no recollection of me.

Either they don't or they just want to act like they don't. And whichever one they've chosen doesn't diminish the fact that I've recognized them.

'Raymel is the one you want to keep your eyes on. Grab his attention, make him start talking, and he'll tell you anything you want to hear.'
