Chapter Seventy Two

"No! No! No! This can't be happening!" I slammed my fist on the table after reading the news article on my phone. There had been a fire outbreak at the Federal Prison for Women and seventeen inmates had escaped. Their names were listed but I could only read one and it made my blood boil.

Darlene Edwards!

I never thought I'd hear that name in this life again but here it was, staring at me in the face and taunting me. She was free and I didn't like it one bit.

The door opened and Beth walked in with a frown on her face. She looked me over and sighed.

"Work problems?"

"I wish." I growled. "It's just something I saw on the news."

"The stock market?"

"No Beth." I sighed. "It's nothing that concerns you." I was irritated but I didn't want to vent my irritation on her when it was no fault of hers.

I just wished there was something I could do to help the police capture those escaped inmates and even if not all of them but Darlene Edwards had to be behind bars.
