Chapter 7

Noelle might have locked her door, but it only took Quentin a few tries to figure out the passcode combination.

Meanwhile, Noelle was having a nightmare, in which a handsome but cold middle-aged man approached her threateningly. He demanded, "Apologize!"

"No!" With her eyes brimming with tears, she yelled at him stubbornly.

"If you don't, get lost and never come home. Never!"

"Never!"

Noelle cried her heart out in her dreams. Quentin, who had just broken in, frowned hard and proceeded to the second floor quizzically.

He found her crying and trembling under the light blue blanket in the bed. He walked over and flipped the blanket open. "Noelle?"

What was wrong with her? Why was she crying?

She opened her teary eyes and stared at him in confusion. Although she was woken up, she felt disoriented and groggy. The man standing in front of him overlapped with the memory of him from three years ago.
