“Surv-surviving three… three times…” As Noah attempted to recover his train of thought, his voice came out shaky and broke in several places. Only after clearing his throat several times did he finally manage to piece together a relatively fluent sentence. “Surviving three times might… might look like a coincidence, but–but if my instincts told me I would die… would… would I not change my actions until I found a way to live?”
Noah shrunk his pink neck, lowered his head, and stared at his own feet as if they were the most interesting of species. “From an outsider's perspective, these–these might look like… like close brushes with death. But from mine, they… they are just a multiple-choice question to which I already know the wrong answers.”
Levi’s eyes had not once left his alluring baby. Letting go of him had already taken every drop of Levi’s will power; how would he have the strength to look away?
His eyes burned holes in the other’s flushed skin, and his ears attentively absorbed every sound his baby made.
“That’s why I absolutely won’t die!” Noah finally managed to reach the point of his rant, “I am not afraid! So, brother, you should not be afraid either!”
His speech would have been far more convincing if he wasn’t currently a perfect picture of a trembling little lamb, absolutely not daring to even look in the wolf’s general direction.
Levi silently stared at his precious darling, who was clearly becoming more and more sexually aware of him. Levi felt utterly unable to suppress the growing greed within. He opened his mouth to let out a deep groan, “…so, what you are saying is that I won't ever lose you?”
Noah’s face that had managed to cool off a bit flared back up. Now everything…! Everything that his brother-in-law did or said… seemed… seemed… ah…! Noah’s racing heart just couldn’t settle back down!!
“Blackie…” Noah swallowed hard, “That… do you think my brother… is… acting… acting…” He couldn’t even voice his absurd thoughts out loud!
Blackie could only thicken his face and employ his fine craft of bullshitting, “Are you trying to say that your own brother-in-law, who is getting married to your sister in mere days, is scheming on how to do inappropriate things to you instead of your sister? Are you aware of how ridiculous that sounds?”
Noah jumped like a cat who had its tail stepped on, hurrying to refute, “That’s not what I meant! I meant… I meant…” Noah struggled to make sense of his own chaotic thoughts, “…my peculiarities as a worldborn… that… that…”
“You are asking if anything has changed due to you switching bodies and worlds?” Blackie drawled.
“Yes!”
“No.” Blackie deadpanned, “The source of your worldborn attributes is your worldborn soul. It hasn’t changed thus…”
“That… worldborn… worldborn are asexual, right?”
“Basically asexual.” Blackie used all of his processing power to hold back a smirk, “Why?”
Why? Because his heart was still racing inside his chest! And he found no other logical explanation for it than… than…!
But that clearly couldn’t be it either!! It must be the shock and unfamiliarity of the embarrassing situation!
And… and.. because… for a moment there… he thought that his brother-in-law… was going to… going to kiss… kiss…
Noticing his host’s befuddled brain was getting dangerously close to realizing the truth, Blackie felt obliged to throw in another roadblock in his way to an epiphany, “Don’t tell me you are developing some indecent thoughts towards your own brother-in-law? Tsk, naughty, aren't you?”
Though outraged, Noah couldn’t even flush in shame because he was already as red as he could get! He shook his head both to deny Blackie’s preposterous idea and to clear his own stray thoughts, but then he remembered that he had been asked a question by Levi and quickly turned that shake into a nod. “No losing!”
The strange feelings aside, he had no intention of dying or breaking off his relations with Levi; thus, of course, there will be no losses involved. Hurrying to dispel the strange atmosphere, Noah even teasingly added, “I’m younger than you; I'll definitely outlive you!”
Levi clutched at the bedsheets, trying his hardest to restrain himself from pouncing on the mouthwatering darling that just promised not to leave him.
This entire day, his baby had been enticing him, seducing him, testing his limits of self-control. Over and over again, he spoke such sweet, irresistible words that bordered on sweet torture.
Just like this sweet promise to not leave him.
To never, ever leave him. He wanted to hear it over and over again. And judging by his lower member’s excitement so did he.
“…but what if you go away all on your own?” Levi inquired, his voice hoarse.
“Why would I do that?” Noah cocked his head and finally gathered enough courage to briefly glance in Levi’s direction.
“I don't know,” Levi swallowed hard, “Maybe because I did something I shouldn't have? …did something you dislike?”
Did something he shouldn’t have done? For some reason, Noah’s mind couldn’t help but recall Levi’s hot breath fanning his face.
Awkward.
Embarrassing!
Too intimate!!
…But he didn’t dislike it.
Actually, Levi’s breath smelled like his fruity toothpaste, fresh and mouth-wateringly delicious. Ah, he should have eaten more for dinner!
Hah, he really was overthinking it! Two guys, and brothers-in-law, at that. What could there possibly be between them?
Sure, his brother was a bit touchy, but he wasn’t touching any inappropriate areas. He, Noah, a conservative little virgin raised by a nun, was just being overly sensitive.
Blackie: (◞‸ლ) ‘…Would you look at the fool who just had his tofu eaten and doesn’t even know it! The man is hugging you, rubbing your waist, stroking your back, pinching your chin, nuzzling your head, and you write all of that off as not touching any inappropriate areas?!? Hehe, what areas does the scoundrel have to touch for you to label it inappropriate? Your dick?’ (¬‿¬)
Unaware just how much he was being scorned by his own system, Noah let out a musical chuckle and poked Levi’s arm, “There is no need to overthink things. Continue to treat me well as you've done up to now, and we're good.”
Levi stared with dismay at the naughty fingers that dared to poke him. How could he possibly continue to treat his darling the same as he did up to now? One of these days, he is bound to snap and push his baby down underneath him!
Levi attempted to wet his parched throat, “You say that now… but… people… change…”
Noah laid back down on his back, once again thoughtfully staring at the stars on the ceiling above, “You are right.” He nodded, “Me of tomorrow is different from me of today. And me of today is different from me of yesterday.” ‘…And me from the day before yesterday wasn’t even me.’ Noah added internally. After all, he had arrived in this world around noon the day before yesterday.
“But actually,” Noah drawled, “I am simpler than you think. No matter how I change, some core values of mine are unlikely to ever change. If someone treats me sincerely, then I will treat them with sincerity. If someone treats me well, then I too will treat them well.” Noah smiled towards Levi, even his amber eyes curving into crescents, “It's that simple.”
“Is that a promise?” Levi spoke up. He was really unsatiable, give him an inch and he wanted a mile. But he couldn’t help it. He wanted it all. Wanted everything that was this precious existence in front of him.
Noah signed helplessly yet dotingly, “Yes, yes, it’s a promise.”
“You won’t go back on your word later?” Levi bit in and didn’t let go.
Noah grabbed the nearby decorative pillow and feebly threw it in Levi’s face, “Stop questioning my integrity and just go to sleep!”
Levi hugged the pillow to his face, hiding his expression behind it. The gently upturned lips, the sparkling blue eyes, and the obsession burning within.
When Cordia daddy received the report from the butler, he nearly choked on his spit. This son-in-law is treating his little son’s room as his own!! Has he no shame?? So many rooms in the manor, including his fiancée’s place, yet he chooses to settle in his son’s bedroom?!?For goodness sake! His son’s room didn’t even have a sofa! There is only that one bed!!It took Concordia city lord a long while to finally manage to swallow down his indignation.Very well! Every problem has its solution. (ꐦ ◠‿◠)And thus, he passed down his orders – tomorrow, when the two boys left the bedroom, move another bed inside. Not enough room for another bed? Make room! Even if you have to replace the large bed with a smaller one, you shall do it!Can’t get that huge bed out of the room? Don’t care how you do it! Even if the only solution is to split the huge bed into two with a bloody laser cutter, y
No, it wasn’t the matter of his baby’s suitors! He, the dignified and the magnanimous ruler of Astarea, and his darling’s one and only future husband didn’t need to worry about some peasants stealing the goddess–ahem, the god of his heart!(︶^︶)ノAlright, fine! The actual truth was that he hadn’t gotten his hands on that list just yet… (≖ ‸ ≖)Apparently, getting a list of his love rivals involved a lot of research; getting accurate information within such a short time frame was unrealistic. Or at least that’s what his people had claimed with tears in their eyes.Hmph, since he had more pressing matters to attend to right now, he would let them off the hook this once.As for the mentioned pressing matters, they were naturally related to getting married to his baby. Back when he had decided to switch the bride of the arranged marriage to his baby, Levi had lamented how much easier it would all be if h
By the time the eldest Cordia sibling, Noah’s sister, handled all of the work assigned to her, the day had already turned into night. Her healing powers had been squeezed dry, leaving her utterly exhausted self, stumbling on her way to the employee lounge. Her glassy eyes lit up when she saw the vacant sofa as if seeing a great benefactor. Without further ado, she slumped into the comfy goodness, intending to briefly rest her tired body before hauling herself home. However, as soon as her head touched the sofa, she ended up inadvertently dozing off. When she finally snapped out of it, the time on the wall showed several hours had already passed. She sat up in a fluster, her abrupt actions making the quilt covering her slide off. In a daze, she gazed towards the soft blanket which she did not remember covering herself with.Ah, Shaw must have seen her embarrassing state and considerately fetched a blanket. What a mature, thoughtful gentleman! Tsk, unlike he
Noah’s sister wasn't the only one who had trouble falling asleep that night. Somewhere in Concordia, there was a dimly lit room with all of its window sills shut tight in an attempt to keep the proceedings inside private. A futile effort since neither the tightly shut windows nor the thick door could keep the loud and agitated bits and pieces of the conversation from leaking out."How is he fine and well?!?""…don't know!""Didn't you say… estimated power… SS-rank Soother?!?""I told you… results… unpredictable!""Didn't… increase the doze?! How is… Astar Levi… fucking fine?!?""Differences in mental power? Differences in the level of… abilities? For all we know… soothing power …increasing…""So we are fucking training the enemy to counter our plans better?! Is that it?!?"A sharp sound of glass breaking could be heard from within.
Noah’s eyes were wide and watery, every inch of his skin red, and his “natural” facial expression anything but natural. He attempted to meet Levi’s eyes because avoiding the other’s gaze would make him look guilty, but his poor acting nearly made Levi’s very good acting fall apart! He just looked like a trembling little rabbit trying to look brave and lock eyes with the wolf, only to falter and look down shyly. But then remember he was supposed to be brave, so look up again, but ah! Can’t look in the eyes! So embarrassed, ah! (/≧ω\) ‘Oh, for the love of…!! Baby, that’s a foul!!’ Levi’s heart melted into a puddle from the overwhelming cuteness attack he had been subjected to. The corner of his mouth twitched imperceptibly, and he swallowed hard, the knot on his throat bobbing up and down. Thankfully for him, his acting was still passable, either due to his naturally thick face or the fact that his facial expressions were naturally less expressive than most pe
Levi ground his teeth, “Thanks…”Noah’s now empty hand gave him a thumbs up, “You are welcome.” ╰(*°▽°*)╯Levi, “…”‘Sigh~ At least he is cute…’ Levi comforted his broken heart while putting his clothes on, ‘Mn, so very cute.’Soon enough, Levi came out of the room, fully clothed, much to Noah’s visible relief.Levi eyed his cute little kitten and then sighed, “…I’ll be right back; I need to talk to your sister. Wait for me to have breakfast together.” Sure, he did break off the engagement last night, but that was one-sided, and he had yet to hear his ex-fiancée’s agreement. Not to mention, there were still several marriage-related matters that needed to be settled.Noah nodded very understandingly, and thus Levi set off on his martyrdom. With an overbearing manner, he strutted through t
Cordia mommy’s eyelid twitched again; she tried very hard to block out Levi’s form from her peripheral vision and concentrate on the conversation, “Then why did you give me that exasperated look earlier? You think they shouldn't have gotten married?”“How would I know whether they should have gotten married or not? I haven't watched this drama,” Noah shrugged again.“Then why the look? The look!”“It's because the setting is a bit… hmm… how should I put this…” Noah licked his lips, “From the setting, it would seem like the two were unwilling but had no choice but to get married. And I think that where there is a will, there is a way. If they were really against getting married, they would have found a way out of it.” Noah once again wore that same exasperated look, “The scriptwriters were just lazy and wanted them together for the plot.”Cordia mommy w
Cordia mommy put down the cracker she had been nibbling on, no longer having any appetite. “Haha, son-in-law, don’t bully your little wife too much, or he’ll run away!” She teased with a hard-to-define undertone that had a bit of a subtle sharpness to it.In response to this outrageous title of a little wife that had just been placed on his head, Noah’s eyes widened in indignant shock. ‘Mother! Aren’t your jokes today a bit too much?!? First you ask me such a tricky question with no right answer, and now that I’ve answered it, you… you… you! What little wife?! I would clearly be a little husband, ok?!?’Blackie felt metaphorical blood rise up his non-existent throat, ‘Host, you are focusing on the wrong thing again!!!’Unfortunately for Blackie’s sanity, his host’s other half focused on the wrong thing too!“Mother is right,” when face
