Chapter 21

Even though Amber and Stephen were already lying in their respective places and even though the light was off, only the lampshade on the side of Amber's bed was lit, they both still couldn't sleep.

Amber was lying on her side, her back to Stephen. And Stephen, still wide awake, was just looking at Amber's back. When Stephen couldn't stand himself anymore, he got up from his position and sat on the couch. The couch is big.

Stephen stood up and walked over to Amber's bed, when Amber felt her bed move as if someone sat down, her eyes widened. She didn't move immediately, she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep but she couldn't hide her nervousness.

"Amber, are you still awake?" Stephen asked weakly.

He climbed up on Amber's bed and came closer to Amber, he whispered causing Amber to become even more nervous. Amber still didn't open her eyes or even move to answer Stephen's question.

"I know you're still awake," he said. He lay down on the bed, next to Amber. "If you don't mind me
