Chapter 2 The Night that She Was Unwilling to Recall

The words on the paternity test were like sharp swords that pierced deep into Zhuang Momo's eyes.

The little boy calling her mommy made her heart ache even more.

Yes, she did have a child.

But that was her boyfriend, Xu Qingyun's child.

She had been in love with Xu Qingyun for seven years. The day she graduated from university, she slept with him.

She was pregnant after that. It seemed that she was blessed by heaven.

Because of the child, Madam Xu, who never liked her, agreed to her marriage with Xu Qingyun and promised to let them hold the wedding after the child was born.

However, she never expected that the child she had been pregnant with for nine months was a dead fetus.

Memories swept, and she recalled the night five years ago, the nightmare that she would never be able to get rid of in her life.

Having just finished giving birth, she knelt in front of Xu Qingyun's mother, just to take a look at the child.

"Madam Xu, where is my child! Please let me see the child!"

"Child? What are you talking about?"

"He is dead! I've already had someone send him to the morgue!"

Madam Xu looked down at her and impatiently shook off her hand.

"How is that possible! The doctor said that my child is healthy! Every month, the prenatal examination is fine and there is no difficult labor. How can he die?" Zhuang Momo cried in disbelief. Seeing that Madam Xu wanted to leave, she quickly hugged Madam Xu's leg.

"That's because you have a bad fate!"

"Who knows what kind of sin you have committed? Your child is a dead fetus."

"It was right that I didn't let you and Qingyun get married. You are simply a jinx!"

Madam Xu said fiercely. She took out a card from her pocket and threw it on the ground with her head held high.

Looking at Zhuang Momo who refused to let go, she called the nurse over and got someone to tie Zhuang Momo to the bed with force.

Looking at that panic-stricken face, Madam Xu got more impatient.

"Look at how lame you are. It's no wonder the child died. Alright, I'm leaving. This is 500,000 yuan. Take it as your nutrition fee. Stay away from my son from now on."

"No, Madam Xu! How could the child die! I clearly remember that in the operating room, the doctor said that he was very healthy!"

"Madam Xu... I beg you, let me take a look at the child. He is also Qingyun's child."

Even if he was already dead, she still wanted to take a look!

But...

Zhuang Momo's shout was stopped by the anesthetic.

When she woke up again, she had already left the private delivery hospital and returned to her home.

And her sister told her that Xu Qingyun had already gone abroad to study.

Having lost his child, he was very sad and he wanted to be alone, so he chose to leave temporarily.

During that month, Zhuang Momo had truly experienced what it meant to be in hell.

Xu Qingyun could not be contacted. She ran to the hospital several times, and the doctor told her that her child was indeed dead. Moreover, these children that had been abandoned by their parents were usually directly given to the students of the medical school as specimens.

Abandoned?

How come she abandoned him?

What was more desperate was that the doctor told her that because she had a hemorrhage after giving birth, it might be difficult for her to get pregnant in the future.

Fortunately, when she was about to collapse, Xu Qingyun contacted her and told her that he would still be with her without a child.

But...

Why would this happen?

She clearly remembered that she heard the child's loud cry in the operating room.

"Mommy, don't cry. Are you unhappy to see me?"

A crisp child's voice pulled Zhuang Momo back to reality. The little boy who called her mother was bouncing on his toes, clumsily wiping her tears with his chubby hands.

The baby's black pupils were too bright, and they were like a mirror that magnified his heart.

For some reason, Zhuang Momo did not reject him. Instead, she raised her head and looked at Xu Liancheng with a complicated expression.

Could he really be her child who had been "dead" back then?

But his father should not be Xu Liancheng.

As if seeing her confusion, Xu Liancheng pushed a document towards her.
