As Bella walked down the stairs, her body was in literal shivers feeling Damon's gaze on herself. It was like she had some kind of sensor inside her body, making her feel the caress of his gaze on her whole body and knowing what his every gesture meant.
She knew that in his mind everything was about her right now. About his urges that he tried to hide behind those rude curtain of his eyes, showing everyone how unaffected he was while in reality, she could never believe that their mate bond was this weak.
But she did not want to appear weak in front of him, no matter how hard her body resisted. She was already too weak physically, not having any wolf inside of her. She was not going to let her feelings betray her as well. She needed him as far away from herself as possible.

Bella walked past the guests, excusing herself politely within the crowd as she made her way towards the area her eyes were stuck to. The A- lined white dress hugged her bosom beautifully and cascaded down to her upper thighs, making it easier for her to take long strides ahead.
