Bella's eyes opened from the sound of someone speaking in low voice. Her mind barely registered the words when she tried to become aware of what was happening. 

"Get inside... yeah. I heard." .... "they were talking about forming some plan. They did not say anything further. I had to get Bella out of that fucking place, away from those mumbling idiots talking shit about her, otherwise I would have already sorted this out with my hands around their throats."

Bella blinked, trying to push away the blinding sunlight as Damon's words started to make some kind of sense to her. He was standing by the window which was slightly open as the sunlight poured in. He was bare except for the boxers that hung low on his hips. The sunlight literally made his skin glow from where she stared up at him in fascination.
