Twenty Nine

“So she works for you?” the man chuckled.

“Yes,” Greg said. “She isn’t a student anymore, no conflict. Please remember that I teach sixth grade now. I don’t teach in the high school any longer.”

“I see.” The older man said. He knew that he could not really say anything to Greg in this. It was well known among most of the teachers in the high school that the man had his favorite students every year. Though no one had proof of the possible affairs, they were there and happening in the school. “I think that middle school will be good for you.”

“I hope so,” Greg said as the man walked away.

“What was that about?” Kristen asked as she looked at Greg. She knew more had been said without the use of words. Though she might not have understood things the way they had happened, she did know that Greg had staked his claim on her in front of the man.  Sh
