I looked up at the blinking stars above me. I reached out with my arms to get my can of beer off the table in front of me. I felt so suffocated earlier at our dinner that being alone in our garden makes me feel much better.

My mother had previously informed us that my father would soon become the CEO of the Ong Group, and that as his children, we would almost certainly be given a role; in fact, both of us may be CEOs of one of the Ong Group's company.
