Xyni’s words created an uproar and the Head Councilman was furious beyond words. Angry shouts and murmurs rose among the council members as Xynathius watched them with a smug face. I tightly closed my lips because I knew he was about to stir a lot of trouble.

“How dare you put forward something so preposterous? Mistakes are continually made at trials doesn't mean you get the authority to challenge us. With the vampire threat looming on our heads, it's time to stand together and not fall apart,” Borgia groused.

“That continual need to end. There are better people to take this position. People who won't be biased and judgmental.
