Chapter 27 - Floored

"Are we still going to put an act here?" Jade's question made Tyler halt and looked at her intensely which made her gulp audibly.

"Hug me if you don't want to fall," he spoke indifferently before he resumed walking, taking long strides.

After a moment of hesitation, Jade obeyed Tyler and wound her arms around Tyler's neck.

Jade could not hold back and spoke again when she saw how far he walked and beads of sweat broke out on his forehead.

"Put me down, Tyler, you're already tired," she was pleading as she felt awkward being stared at by people.

"Your husband is not a weakling," Tyler said curtly.

He is a soldier. Naturally, he’s physically fit and carrying a slender woman like Jade is just a piece of cake.

"But you're sweating," Jade knew that it was a lame proof to support her conclusion that he was tired.

"Wipe it," Tyler said in his usual commanding tone.
