Chapter 30 - More lies!

Viktoria’s POV

We were actually sitting outside under the stars having high tea at night! My eyes scanned the area around us and I wondered how many of these so-called ladies and gentlemen that were walking in the gardens were on our side and how many of them were plotting to have me and my family killed. If they killed my father, they could have a straight line to the throne no matter who they were. They didn’t need to kill me if they had enough votes. I was sure of it, but my father seemed to differ from my opinion. I couldn’t help it. Where my father saw alliances and friends, I saw people who could stab us in the back at any time. Literally!

“Your majesty, your royal highness.” His voice sent a shiver down my spine as I remembered my little incident with Bailey on the night of our coronation.

“Bailey, just the man I wanted to see.” My father smiled, showing him a seat right next to me and my eyes grew wide before something my father said earlier came to mind.
