I had no idea if I had actually got away with my white lie to Carter. If nothing else, I have bought myself some time. I slept far too much last night, to the point when I woke up, I had no idea what, time, day or even year it was for a good 5 minutes.

At least until I had had my cup of coffee.

I don’t understand despite my best efforts I’m still not in a better position than I was before I started this whole mess. I guess it could be worse but worse seemed to be a prospect that was becoming closer and closer to a reality.

I scoured my fridge and cupboards looking for any last morsal of food that I could have. After giving all my money to Karen, using Jake’s card for other things and all the money from Carter to pay for the medical fees, I didn’t have anything left for food here.
