Chapter 82

I was told the jury had finally made their decision we all waited in the lobby before heading into the courthouse. I held Stephanie to me whilst I chatted to Todd, Lyra was here being her usual annoying self, she had spotted the ring on Stephanie’s finger when we arrived.

Carter and his cronies were here too, he kept looking over at Stephanie but I shielded her with my body as much as possible, he must have seen the ring I had given her as his face turned red with fury an evil glint in his eye, his fists balled his chest puffed out. I thought he was going to try to fight me but in the end he just turned walking away, there was a look in his eyes I didn’t like one bit.

The clerk calls us in and we make our way into the court house, I release Stephanie giving her a kiss on the head as she takes her seat behind me, Todd just gives me a smirk as we walk over to our seats Lyra sits down in between us. I clench my jaw but leave it, we will be out of here soon.
